Roots reggae stars play Liverpool

Sunday 31 May sees a rare opportunity to experience The Mighty Diamonds live on stage at The Picket in Liverpool.

The Mighty Diamonds were formed in the notorious Trenchtown area of Kingston, Jamaica some 40 years ago. Their classic début release, Right Time, was released on Virgin Records and was the first of an amazing 45 album career.

The band still consists of the three original members: Donald 'Tabby' Shaw, Fitzroy 'Bunny' Simpson and Lloyd 'Judge' Ferguson. They have toured constantly throughout their lengthy career, spreading their brand of roots reggae across the globe.

Their track 'Pass the Kouchie' was an international hit both for them on its original release and also as 'Pass the Dutchie' when it was covered by Musical Youth.

So, if you can't make it to the Reggae Sunsplash festival in Jamaica this year, then head to The Picket in Liverpool on Sunday – less sunshine but the same roots vibe.

The Mighty Diamonds, Sunday 31 May, 7.30pm, The Picket, 61 Jordan Street, Liverpool, 0151 708 6789
