Open Day at Cheadle Hulme Music Academy

Meet the teachers and play the instruments at South Manchester's music school

Open Day at Cheadle Hulme Music Academy

CHEADLE Hulme Music Academy is holding an open day on Sunday 3 July for anyone interested in taking up music lessons in South Manchester or Cheshire.

If you've got a Gleek living in your house or a wannabe rock star who needs a helping hand with their guitar chords, get them along to this. It could be the start of a skill they'll enjoy for life.

At the open day, you can meet the principal and teachers, try the instruments, and hear live performances. There'll be drinks and a friendly welcome. It's free to attend – just turn up between 2pm and 5pm.

Cheadle Hulme Music Academy is a family-run music school which offers everything from violin lessons to woodwind classes, plus singing and voice coach lessons too. Their musical spectrum ranges from classical to pop and mainstream.

It's a relaxed, lively place with lots going on for the musically minded. Your child could join a pop choir, a rock band, or a jazz ensemble. They also have keyboard groups and woodwind ensembles, with regular live performances so that the students can show off their talents.387014-Musical-School-Greater-Manchester-Lancashire-The-North-West-Cheadle-Hulme-Music-Academy-Music

Lessons are designed to be fun, engaging and focused on bringing out the best in the students.

The academy has grown steadily since it was established in 1995 – it now teaches over 120 students a year with the youngest just four-years-old and the eldest being 83. Teachers are all fully-qualified and CRB checked.

Music lesson prices

Individual lessons cost £15.95 for 30 minutes. Group lesson prices are available on request.

Lessons are available in the evening, weekends and daytime. Terms run the same as academic terms so it won't disrupt holiday plans.

Teachers prepare students for examinations up to Diploma level and beyond – they have a track record of excellent exam results. But if it's more the experience your child is interested in, rather than the grade, that's fine too. Non-graded learning is a popular choice here.

And if all of this is making you wish you were a youngster again, you might be interested in learning, or re-learning an instrument yourself at the academy. Classes for adults are priced the same as for youngsters.

The Open Day takes places on Sunday 3 July from 2pm to 5pm. It's free to attend and you don't need to book – just turn up. Cheadle Hulme Music Academy, 201 Grove Lane, Cheadle Hulme, Cheshire, SK8 7NG. 0161 439 0091 or 07885 027 909. www.cheadlehulmemusicacademy.co.uk
