SEVENTIES rock connoisseurs Magazine have booked in for a headline show at the Manchester Academy on November 4. The band will be supporting the release of their fifth studio album No Thyself - their first studio release since 1981’s ‘Magic, Murder and The Weather’- with a nine date UK tour this Autumn.

Magazine reformed in 2009 after a 28 year split for a comeback tour which proved to be a huge critical success. Now armed with some new material Magazine is back to swoon UK audiences.

Tickets go on sale this Friday and are priced at £22.50 plus booking fee and are available through www.gigsandtours.com/0844 811 0051

i think its about time we (manchester) paid for the altruistic way that one man brought to my doorstep at least 'TWICE' the 'FACTORY/RUSSEL club and THE 'HACIENDA' the hacienda was a bit far away to walk to, 5 mins but the factory/russell i could see from the 'Mancunian pub' on city rd..looking back what the man TONY WILSON (his punk name) did twice was beyond and above a service it was his love of everything manchester/salford and he did it for love not money, imagine waking up and hearing that the russell (reggae and dominoes i remember)club is now the factory and 'Magazine' open 1st night? siouxsie@banshees,iggy,damned,joy division etc ,and we had free door.i would like to know where Nigel is these days? he was the KODAK HEAD resident photographer, sound lad.then obviously manchester gave Madonna a break and lift to the top of the cresents and the world by letting her play the Hacienda' - 'FACTORY RECORDS' say no more, the guy had his piss takers,we did in a nice way a couple of times and i would imagine even 'JOHN LYDON' would be tempted to play a rememberence concert having played the Factory/Russell with PIL back in the day...whatever i would like is not the issue here, its what he deserves MR ANTHONY H WILSON brought all that music here for us and for what its worth in my mangled mind he is the most important man to MANCHESTER in my lifetime.i just cant think of any other (leaving football out of it) so 'TONY i hope to be taking the piss again when i see you' pure respect..
