Hear Andrew Grimshaw's top ten tunes

Tell us about yourself
I co-own and run a few websites, manage a band (FOLKS) and like to maintain some variety – I am currently doing some work for a big digital agency too. Get Your Ears Out is the most relevant thing to this interview. It’s very early days and we have plenty to do but the site will provide gig listings for every conceivable gig in the UK, in time. It will be a place to meet up and do live music online, and we hope to be able to offer more services to bands, venue owners and promoters in the future. You can check out the beta-site at www.getyourearsout.com but it's only work in progress. We’re on the lookout for keen gig goers who want to get involved too.

What types of music do you like?
Depends on my mood, my iTunes consists of over 20,000 songs from hip-hop to reggae and rock to techno. I ain’t pigeon-holed like when I was much younger – in them days only hip-hop and house would do…and a bit of Joy Division, New Order etc, of course.

What's the song that means the most to you and why?
That’s impossible to answer. I just don’t have a song that matters most, sorry. Just as the answer to the next question is impossible too. So I've listed my most played at the moment on iTunes which I use daily. A top 10 of all time is something I’d need months to decide upon, sad eh?

What are your top ten favourite songs?

1 'White Lines' by Grandmaster Flash
2 'Mannish Boy' by Muddy Waters
3 'Karma Police' by Easy Star AllStars
4 'Energy Flash' by Joey Beltram
5 'Vitamin C' by CAN
6 'Gimme Shelter' by The Rolling Stones
7 'Rebel Without a Pause' by Public Enemy
8 'We’re All Dead' by FOLKS
9 'Mesh' by New Order
10 'Voodoo Child' by Jimi Hendrix

My 'most played' list on i-tunes contains some songs that I've not had on in weeks. Very strange.

Yey! I have heard of a couple of these!
