A HOTEL relaunch party doesn’t sound like much of a big deal, but when it’s the only intact medieval style castle in the country that’s the hotel in question, it kind of is.
Following a suspected arson attack in June 2011 around 25 per cent of Peckforton Castle was damaged, but extensive rebuilding and restoration work in conjunction with English Heritage has got the Grade I listed building back on track this year.
To mark the occasion, the family owned hotel turned to critically acclaimed singer Emeli Sande, whose album recently charted at number one, alongside soul singer Lemar.
Both artists performed in front of guests personally invited by the Naylor family who own the castle, along with celebrities from Coronation Street and Desperate Scousewives.
Watch the video of Emeli Sande performing ‘Heaven’ below.
