Wonderful Winter Coats

The weather outside is frightful and the la la la whatever the words are, but one thing’s for sure it’s very, very COLD! It’s time to wrap up warm again in this seasons most wonderful winter coats. This week we at Body Confidential are determined to prove that you can have your cake and eat it, twinning comfort with fashion in the snuggest stylish winter coats around.

Long and Military

The military look is still hot this season and this example gives a classic twist to the masculine style. With influences from the current Russian trends, its sleek lines and attention to detail make this style a real head- turner. The oversized detailing makes for an ultra modern choice for the festive season and the longer length is sure to keep those bottoms toasty warm. Dress it up with a big fur scarf and hat for that real Russian must have look for winter 2005.

The featured coat is from www.asos.com and is available at £65.00 but there are loads of great examples of this look around - try Top Shop, Miss Selfridge and H&M for some up high fashion options. If you like your military with a classic twist, M&S and Jigsaw have some great pieces taking the feel of a classic jacket with military detail added to keep it fresh.

The Caped Crusader

Wherever you look this season it’s hard to ignore the return of the cape. It’s a versatile look that makes a refreshing change from the traditional coat and gives a funky twist to wrapping up warm. This red version from ASOS (£30) is guaranteed to get you noticed on a cold winter's night! The button detail at the front is neat and un-cluttered and the mandarin collar keeps the look minimal and stylish. It’s also available in black and cream so it’s an option to match any outfit.

Fur is all over the place at the moment, from coats and hats to scarfs and gloves it’s the hottest look around. Pretty and practical faux fur is a must have in any fashion savvy ladies wardrobe this winter. This snug little cream number from Principles (£96, reduced from £120) is a great example of what’s available on the high street. The fur is nice and fluffy – minus the ‘plastic’ feel of cheaper imitations and the off centre button fastening gives a very flattering shape. It’s a great classic length and the speckled fur lining will keep you warm on even the frostiest of winter mornings.
