Win two tickets worth £60 to see Live Models and Stuffed Animals

This might be one of the parties of the year. And all for charity.

A Night at the Museum will take place in the glorious Victorian surroundings of the Manchester Museum.

Guests will enjoy specially-created cocktails and live music in the Fossil galleries, which house a T Rex skeleton called Stan; then travel up to the mammal galleries for a surreally delightful fashion show representing the best of multi-award winning Rags To Bitches, and featuring live models and stuffed animals.

Few will have experienced the marvels of the Museum at night - and to enhance the treat, there will be couture canapés, fairground stalls, dressing up treasure hunts, tangos, and dancing on the top floor, above the colourful Bird Galleries - although those of a nervous disposition may want to look out for the spider crab.

To name names, expect live music via the Jessie Rose Trip, a fashion show featuring our new collection, a 78 gramophone record set from DJ Dr Sid, auction, stalls, Charleston dance lessons and a dressing up box and photo booth. Vicky Binns from Corrie is attending too. The Northern pub’s very own John Locke is doing the live auction dressed as Thomas Barnardo.

This is no ordinary event, and tickets, priced at £30, will sell out swiftly.

“We are thrilled to be working with Barnardos to create this one-off event,” says Rags to Bitches owner Simon Buckley, “the museum is the ideal location for a night that’s completely different, and we have some very special surprises lined up - although we can’t promise the T Rex will come to life.”

Confidential thinks this is going to be a cracking evening of madness, fun and chaos. We’re going to go along, take lots of pictures, stare at the models and say stupid things while attempting to drink the bar dry. Then we’re going to talk to that stuffed leaping tiger in the main gallery there – we’re going to ask if holding that position for more than hundred years has resulted in serious mobility problems in later-death? We hope he won’t blank us.

But seriously we can’t wait. Fortunately, a Night at the Museum takes place at Manchester Museum, Oxford Road, on 17 Sept 2009.
