Win makeovers, spa treatments, and jewellery with Walrus

Walrus Canteen and Lounge has got a charity raffle running at the moment, with prizes donated by loads of Northern Quarter businesses. It's all in aid of Derian House Childrens Hospice in Chorley and it culminates in a Charity Tasting Session at Walrus on Wednesday 24 June.

The prizes on offer include £150 worth of treatments from Inner Sanctuary. Whoever has the lucky number will get a Refinery Express Treatment Package for themselves and a friend, plus a St Tropez makeover, a Preen and Polish hand and feet treatment, and a mini organic facial.

Another top prize comes from Phoebe Does Make-up – a film and fashion hair and make-up artist. She's offering a hair and make-up makeover for two people worth £100.

Rags to Bitches has donated a retro styling party for four people, while No Angel, the new boutique on Oldham Street has given a belt and earrings. Manchester Craft and Design Centre has offered jewellery from Divinity Studios and Julia Roy Williams, and a framed hand crafted picture from Calico Angel.

Perrier Jouet Champagne, a meal for two at Walrus, and clothes from Northern Quarter boutiques Thomas Street Post Office and Nell Clothing are amongst the other prizes.

Raffle tickets cost £2 a strip (50p each) and can be purchased from Walrus on High Street – just ask a member of staff. The winners will be drawn on Wednesday 24 June at the 'The Fifth Sense' Charity Tasting Session where guests can enjoy six courses of Walrus's most delectable cuisine, each accompanied by a glass of specially selected wine.

The meal includes freshly cut sushi, tofu sashimi salad, steamed seabass fillet, whole king prawn in its shell, beef mussaman, and a trio of deserts served with coffee. Tickets cost £35 – call Walrus on 0161 828 8700 to book or email walrus@walrusmanchester.com. The event starts at 7pm.

You don't have to go to the Tasting Session to buy raffle tickets (though that menu sounds very tempting to us). Just drop into Walrus for a drink between now and Wednesday 24 June and buy your strip. 50 per cent of all proceeds go to the childrens hospice.
