Why can’t I wake up with you?

This weekend the clocks go back and we all get an extra hour in bed. Hurray! But which celebrity would you most like to lie in with?

Why can’t I wake up with you?

Yawn. The mornings are getting darker, and this morning I slipped over on a wet leaf outside my house because I couldn’t see properly. Rubbish. This weekend however marks the official start of British Winter Time, as midnight Saturday sees the clocks get put back an hour.

On the plus side, despite the depressingly wintry implications of this time shift, it means that we get an extra hour in bed on Sunday morning to snuggle up in our duvets and keep warm while the rain is hammering down outside.

The 29th October, or ‘clocks go back day’ as it is more scientifically known, has now been officially dubbed ‘National Sleep In Day’. Like we need any encouragement.

To celebrate National Sleep In Day, Surcare to laundry range has commissioned a survey to find out which celebrities people would most like to lie in with.

The results showed that men would kick skinny girls like Posh and Nicole Ritchie out of bed in favour of the curvier Catherine Zeta Jones, Kelly Brook, and Michelle Marsh.

For the women, it seemed that humour was the most important thing, with Russell Brand and Chris Moyles leading the top five, closely followed by Dermot O Leary.

David Briscoe, Research Analyst for Surcare commented: "Although the results came as a shock, this just highlights that being a size 0 is not attractive to men.

"National Sleep in Day is in fact the same day that the clocks go back, so it's the perfect excuse to stay snuggled up in bed on a dark wintery Sunday morning and make up for losing that hour."

So while you may not have your favourite celebrity to snuggle up to on Sunday morning, have a lovely Sleep In Day and enjoy your lie in. It’s just a shame that it couldn’t have fallen on a Monday morning…
