What shape is your man?

Is he a pizza slice, french fries or a steak? Yes really...

Published on September 8th 2008.

What shape is your man?

It's well documented that when it comes to body shapes women tend to be sectioned into fruity categories. Whether it's apples, pears or somewhere in between TV shows and magazines are on hand with tips on how to make the best of their figure. Men on the other hand haven’t had this help. That is until now.

While Trinny and Susannah undress the fairer sex, Joe Bloggs is going to work on the men. The Manchester based clothing company which made a name for itself in the nineties has identified that men fall into three defined shapes, the pizza slice, the french frie and the steak.

The classic pizza slice, is where men are broad shouldered but narrow at the waist thanks to their washboard stomachs. French fries are tall and thin with not a curve in sight. We're guessing this particular category couls be further dissected into everything from McCain Micro chips to the longer, emptier McDonald's fries. The steak on the other hand is well-built all over with a bit of meat on the bones.

Joe Bloggs PR and Marketing Director, Bushra Ahmed said: “When it comes to fashion there is so much help for women, but men are just left to get on with it. Our sales showed that our most popular items are large t-shirts but smaller sized jeans which lead us to discover the pizza slice shape. And now by sharing this information with our customers we hope men can shop for clothes more confidently and select styles that they know suit them.”

Joe Bloggs Clothing has a full range of fashion separates, from classic jeans and t-shirts to combats and shorts with styles to suit all shapes. For pizza slices such as Gavin Henderson and David Beckham, choose tighter fitting t-shirts and Joe Bloggs twister jeans to ensure a good balance while accentuating large muscular chests.

Typical steaks such as Chris Moyles and James Corden, should opt for loose fitting Joe Bloggs crinkle pocket jeans that will flatter chunkier legs, and a dark t-shirt that features a chest pattern which draws the eye, such as the Black Lion T-shirt.

Men shaped like Peter Crouch and Vernon Kay, who fall under the tall and lean french fries category should go for large detail tops to give the illusion of a muscular top half with bootcut jeans. Choose Joe Bloggs kyoto hawks with a full sized number detail and Joe Bloggs gold stitch jeans which have pockets on the legs to give them width.
