What has Kate Moss got in store for Topshop?

She may have plummeted to number 68 in FHM’s 100 most sexiest women but Kate Moss’ new collection for Topshop will be the first choice for many a fashionista.

The collection goes on sale on 1 May and Topshop is expecting to be bombarded by shoppers wishing to emulate Miss Moss’ signature look.

Shoppers will queue outside its flagship Oxford Street store where the fashion range will debut and Moss is rumoured to be promoting the London preview event by posing as a mannequin in the shop window.

But prepare yourselves to be selective ladies as Topshop are applying purchase rules at both the Oxford Street launch and at the 225 stores nationwide. Shoppers will be limited to trying on a maximum of eight garments and only buy five pieces per person to prevent the clothes from being quickly sold off on eBay.

The collection is made up of 50 designs priced from £12 for a vest top to £150 for a cropped leather jacket. Other items in the collection include skinny jeans, one-shoulder mini dresses and T-shirts with the letter K woven into their designs.

But despite the high demand, it’s had a mixed reaction from critics with the New York Post describing the designs as: ".. like Kate copying a lot of other people's stuff Kate's worn before."

Laura Weir, senior reporter for fashion industry bible Drapers, predicted Tuesday's national launch would cause a "shopper frenzy" on UK high streets.

"The first drop of commercially-priced product will sell out in record time because like her or not, a bulk of young female shoppers in the UK want to buy into the Kate Moss look and what she represents," she said.

A high summer collection of Kate Moss designs will follow at Topshop stores in June.
