Ulrika and Sue Johnston: 21 September

TV celeb Ulrika Jonsson and top actress Sue Johnston will be guests of honour at a Celebrity Literary Lunch later this month.

They’ll be visiting the Lowry Hotel in the city and dining in the five star hotel. After the two course meal with drinks the women will be talking and reading from their recent books.

This is a sad, romantic and heart-warming story about family life, the relationship between mother and daughters, and second chances.

In ‘Things I Couldn't Tell My Mother’, Sue Johnston has written a hilarious but poignant memoire. As with Ulrika’s book, the focus is on the precious, and sometimes fraught, mother daughter relationship. Sue Johnston's many much-loved roles include Sheila Grant in Brookside, Barbara in The Royle Family, Sal Vine in Jam & Jerusalem and Dr Grace Foley in Waking the Dead. In 2009 she was awarded an OBE. This autumn she will be appearing in the three-part comedy drama Sugartown on BBC1.

Sue JohnstonThe two ladies, both witty and engaging, in their own right should provide a lunch to remember.

Tickets are priced at £37.50 each and include glass of house wine or soft drink served with the 2 course meal and on site car parking at The Lowry Hotel (subject to availability ).

Cash bar from 12.30 p.m. to 12.50 p.m.
