The Northwest Comedy Awards

Last week saw the Northwest Comedy awards take place at the Midland Hotel. Click here for a list of winners and all the pictures from the night.

Well, it’s all over for another year. The laughter’s died down, the champagne glasses have been cleared away, and the hangovers are creeping in.

Thursday night saw the results of the Northwest Comedy Awards announced in an exclusive ceremony at the Midland Hotel. 400 of the North West’s biggest players from the comedy and media world attended the bash, which ended up at a karaoke party in the press club, in the wee hours of Friday morning.

Hosted by the legendary Dave Spikey, the awards acknowledged the whole spectrum of comedy talent, including TV, radio, stand up and soap, before culminating in the prestigious Les Dawson award for services to Northwest Comedy – presented to Caroline Aherne by last year’s winner Johnny Vegas.
