The Big Indie Wine Fest

TICKETS have been released for one of the highlights of Manchester Food and Drink Festival 2013. The Big Indie Wine Fest is back for its fifth year on Friday 4 and Saturday 5 October. And this time round it will be held in the historic surroundings of the Great Hall at Manchester Town Hall.

It's a chance to try exquisite varieties and vintages that you won't find down your local supermarket.

In case you didn’t know, the event is a celebration of exciting, boutique wines from the North West's independent merchants. It's a chance to try exquisite varieties and vintages that you won't find down your local supermarket.

A Crop Big Wine Fest 004The gothic Great Hall is worth a visit in its own right. It will provide the perfect arena to sample the finest wines from around the world.

Your ticket gets you your glass for the session and then you’re free to taste your way around the hall trying exclusive wines and learning from the experts. Wine enthusiasts, connoisseurs and novices alike will all find something they love at this showcase event.

There will be three sessions:

Friday 4 October: 5pm to 9pm
Saturday 5 October: 12pm to 4pm
Saturday 5 October: 5pm to 9pm

Tickets cost £11. They are limited in number so please purchase early to avoid disappointment.

Merchants attending include:

  • Tour de Belfort serving organic hand harvested wines from a family vineyard in South West France.
  • T. Wrights Wine from Horwich, showcasing classic Bordeaux and Burgundy wines, right through to the ever popular Spanish Rioja.
  • Pacta Connect serving their imported, medal-winning, artisan Croatian wines.
  • Dusty Road Wines, a Cheshire-based independent wine company serving hand-picked French wines, direct from hard-to-find growers.
  • Turton Wines, a Bolton wine merchants bringing unusual, beautiful wines from Georgia, Slovenia and Lebanon, to name a few.
  • Spirited Wines serving the heart of the city with great wines and spirits.
  • Turton Wines, a Bolton Wine Merchants, is a mecca for those wanting to try something a bit different like wines from Georgia, Slovenia and Lebanon to name a few.
  • Origin Wines and Spirits are importers of the finest wines directly from producers in Spain, France and Italy 
  • Corks out with 5 stores across the North West and many accolades to their name including Best Wine Retailer 2011
  • hanginditch aims to take the fear factor out of wine, this centrally located bar and shop source their wine from small, quality conscious producers.
  • Origin Wines and Spirits import fine wines directly from producers in Spain, France and Italy
  • Bakerie City - centre specialists bring a selection of their favourite wines alongside samples of their delicious artisan bread
