The Best Manchester Ghost Tour Ever: Saturday 23 January

The official Confidential kickstart chiller of the year: where to meet

Published on January 7th 2010.

The Best Manchester Ghost Tour Ever: Saturday 23 January

More than a decade ago the Confidential editor, Jonathan Schofield, started doing ghost tours around the city on Halloween. Nobody else was doing them at the time.

Now, having visited York and Edinburgh where there are more ghost tours than living people, he's decided to enhance the Manchester tours, beef them up, and make them better than those in the tourist honeypots – just for Confidential readers.

Thus the guide of the original Manchester ghost tours will – with tour guiding buddies – be running eight tours lasting 90 minutes each, on Saturday 23 January.

Expect tales of drowned beauties, of broken-hearted lovers, of floods of coffins, of necromancers and executions. And a contemporary ghost tale to chill the blood.

Expect dark places and....shhhhhhhush....ghosts.

And of course, the tour will finish in a place where we can all imbibe spirits, or beer, or wine or lemonade.

Come along and we'll make you shiver but not with the cold temperatures.

The Best Manchester Ghost Tour Ever will take place at: 4pm, 4.30pm, 5.30pm, 6pm, 7pm, 7.30pm, 8.30pm, and 9pm on Saturday 23 January. The price is £10 a pop. Keep an eye out for further details next week.

(A fiver for Hero members – simply book, send us your confirmation email on heroes@manchesterconfidential.com and we'll give you a fiver back. If you want to learn more about becoming a Hero click here.)
