FRIDAY FOOD FIGHT | Great Northern Warehouse | Fri 23 Jan | 5:30 - 11pm

B.Eat Street are back with a 'banging' new cocktail menu, more head-to-head food challenges and lots more street food as Friday Food Fight returns for another ten week run. Confirmed street eats for tonight's event are: Nasi Lemak, Coq O' The North, Yakumama, Hip Hop Chip Shop, Tomfoolery at 38, Reds True BBQ.

STREETSCAPES EXHIBITION | Boulton House Manchester | Until 25 Jan | 10am - 3pm

Streetscapes is a touring photographic exhibition created and supported by The Photographic Angle. Images in this exhibit have been taken within cities and towns and are contemporary records of urban life. The photographs are said to 'capture the challenges we face on a daily basis, as well as the lifestyle choices and aesthetic stimulation arising from high population density and cultural diversity'. 

SPAMALOT | Opera House | Until Sun 24 

The Opera House theatre is currently hosting Spamalot, a familiar and rather silly tale of a quest; the well-known Arthurian legend. This first aired as a film, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, before having songs and a few steps of dance added to turn it into a successful musical. Joe Pasquale plays King Arthur, Todd Carty as loyal servent Patsy and there's a brief appearance by Professor Brian Cox as God.

David Rodigan is bringing the legendary Ram Jam to Manchester to take over The Albert Hall with a hefty collection of the biggest in drum n' bass, jungle and garage, for the first Transmission event of 2015. Former Streets frontman Mike Skinner will be in attendance.

This startling work by Columbian artist Rafael Gómezbarros from London's Saatchi Gallery includes hundreds of 50cm ant sculptures constructed of two human skull casts. The intention of the artist is to represent the mass of millions of displaced and faceless immigrants across the world.

Ghostpoet  is a Mercury Music Prize Nominee from Coventry, UK, raised somewhere between London, Coventry, Nigeria and Dominica. Best known for his melancholy sound and poetic lyricism, Ghostpoet will be debuting his new material in the Northern Quarter pub and live entertainment venue.



The Strokes, The Libertines, Ian Brown & Regina Spektor are but some of the names legendary producer Gordon Raphael has worked with. Just back from a six month tour of Argentina, Seattle, New York, Bristol, Paris and Berlin, Gordon is going to be talking about his history and adventures in the music world at Night and Day Cafe. This promises to be a very special event, both personal and highly interactive.
