Strut ya stuff

High street chain stores may be you first port of call on a serious shopping spree. But perhaps you need to change your hunting habits and think outside King Street.

To help introduce you into our city’s eclectic mix of fashion and design, MassiveUK are presenting STRUT, the fashion event at the Dry Bar on Thursday March 1st.

The event aims to highlight Manchester’s latest design talent from quirky independent boutiques, arty eccentrics and charming musicians in an atmosphere of cultural delight and full frontal excitement.

The fashion shows will feature vintage men’s and women’s wear from the treasure trunk Pop Boutique, exclusive threads from The Triangle’s Unique Boutique and stitches from eclectic West Didsbury gem Junk Shop. And hair will be the Northern Quarter’s HEDONIST

Other featured collections are:

Tokyo Royale: UKs FIRST Lolita Boutique that specializes in Authentic Japanese styled lolita fashions, j-rock, visual kei and cosplay clothing and accessories.

Vampire Bunnies: Cute but deadly handmade clothing straight from Afflecks.

Me & Yu: Crazy creations specializing in hand-made and hand-printed menswear and womenswear, with each design being unique & original.

Rachel Fisher: Candy panted fashion maverick.

Entertainment will be as varied as the fashion with a burlesque act, international skating champion and fire breather. Plus from 10pm onwards Bluebird Kid Clark will perform songs from their recently released album “Bottom Dollar.”

The doors shall be flung open to all at 7:30 with the first fashion showcase beginning at 8.30 and the second one at 9.00. Tickets cost £5 or £4 with an NUS card and are available on the door.
