Celebrity and zombie spotting at the launch party for Splintered

Published on September 18th 2007.

The launch party for horror movie Splintered at the Hilton Hotel last Wednesday certainly provided a few scares with a fire alarm hitch seeing the guests evacuated onto Deansgate for half an hour.

Despite the hiccup, the partygoers were back upstairs mingling with blood-splattered zombies - a scene reminiscent of Piccadilly 21s in its heyday.

The usual nightmares from Corrie and Hollyoaks crowd along with the other glam guests were ushered into a room dressed with cobwebs and flickering candles, where they were given a taste of the movie, followed by some sexy Burlesque entertainment.

The bash was held to create potential investors for the horror movie, which will go into production soon. This glitzy event will certainly have helped Manchester take a lumbering, zombie step forward in placing it at the heart of the film industry.
