She’s in fashion

They say that Manchester is snapping at London’s kitten heels where the fashion world is concerned.

But since the announcement of Fashion Weekend Manchester taking place between 4 and 7 October, it seems that Manchester will be strutting shoulder to shoulder with its southern counterpart.

Fashion Weekend Manchester in association with Grazia will take place in the suitably state-of- the-art Urbis and will offer an exclusive designer shopping and beauty experience.

It follows trade-only London Fashion Week and will feature over 100 designers, including Paul and Joe, Ben de Lisi, Betty Jackson, Designer Studio (incorporating Cavalli, Dolce & Gabanna, Prada and Valentino) and Laura Lees.

So not only do you get to be an official fashionista (wear dark, oversized glasses and purse lips) viewing a variety of catwalk shows, there’s also the opportunity to pick up designer fashion at greatly reduced prices.

This is also a fab chance to explore a different look by attending hair and make-up classes which are run throughout the four days.

Vaughan Allen, Chief Executive of Urbis said: “Urbis is delighted to be bringing Fashion Weekend to Manchester. As Manchester’s main centre focusing on the creative industries and the best of contemporary popular culture, fashion has always been key to what we do. Manchester and the North-West have a burgeoning fashion culture in terms of designers and producers and of course, an extremely strong consumer base. The fact that Urbis has been chosen to be the main venue for this event demonstrates the strength and success of the local fashion networks which Urbis is proud to support and encourage.”

Fashion Weekend Manchester is fashion heaven peeps. It’s like dying and coming back as Helena Christiansen.

Tickets for the event are available here or by calling the ticket line on 0871 2301081. Prices start at just £10 for advanced booked tickets.
