The first of the Screenfields film nights went beautifully. Despite the subject matter - the bio-pic of Ian Curtis, the Joy Division band member, who committed suicide thirty years ago - it was a celebration rather than a commemoration.
The sun shone, the lawns were packed, the deckchairs full, the booze flowed, the sound quality was amazing, the picture quality sharp. When the song, 'Love Will Tear Us Apart' came on everyone whooped and clapped. All was good.
