Gordo was invited to the opening party of the Park Inn Hotel a few weeks ago by the delicious Jill Browton, one of Manchester’s best hotel and restaurant promoters. Jill moved here from The Malmaison to launch the new hotel and is making a good job of it.
That loony DJ, the Legendary Dave Haslam, was there spinning a few tunes whilst telling Gordo plenty of lies. Gordo, mind, can beat him at that game. The women were dead fit as well.
The hotel is in a fine spot, sitting just above the MEN Arena and only a five minute walk from Victoria Station and Harvey Nichols. Gordo reviewed the restaurant just after it opened (click here) and found the ‘Grill’ type menu to be very good. Gordo went down with flu just after, so his notes are poor on this one. Suffice to say that he was drooling for most of the night whilst his walker for the evening, Helen Ramsbottom, polished the buffet off. That girl can eat.
