Manchester set for Irish awards night

The Variety Club is holding its annual International Irish Achievement Awards in Manchester later this month.

The awards will take place at The Palace Hotel on September 18 and will celebrate the achievements of Ireland’s finest from the world of entertainment, music, sport and the community.

The event will include a champagne reception and guests attending the event include investigative journalist Donal McIntyre and 80s pop group The Nolans. There will also be live music from Rattle and Reel.

There will also be a special guest appearance by Callum Best, son of former Manchester Utd legend George Best.

Sponsors of the event include the Irish Post and Manchester-based pub, Mulligans.Tickets for the event are still available, costing £60 each. Call 0161 448 0900 for more details.
