Lunch Beat Two With Graeme Park: Thursday 26 July

WRAPS and rave pulled in the crowds at the first Lunch Beat dance event at the Black Dog Ballroom.

The current generation of lunchtime dancing began in a car park in Sweden – although its ancestry is much older and goes back to the fifties at least in Manchester.

Following the first event set in Manchester’s Northern Quarter, the second lunch time rave set for this Thursday (26 July) may prove even more popular with Hacienda DJ Graeme Park on the ones and twos.

Revellers at the 1pm in the afternoon event, get a complimentary bottle of water and food and then dance away to their hearts content fueled by nothing but a love of music.

The current generation of lunchtime dancing began in a car park in Sweden – although its ancestry is much older and goes back to the fifties at least in Manchester.

Today though 15 cities from across Europe became one to stream the events live from their locations as organisers create a simultaneous, cross continental dance floor.

Again the event will take place at Black Dog Ballroom, corner Tib Street and Church Street, between 1-2pm and all dancers will have one hour to dance and enjoy the music played my Lunch Beat MCR organiser and DJ Marvin Speakman.  An example of the music Marvin will play can be found here.

Tickets are available for £8 and each ticket includes a light healthy lunch and bottled water is provided by Vitzer throughout for free.  The organisers are also giving away free t-shirts to the first 50 people to book their tickets online. To book visit www.lunchbeatmcr.org where you also find all the background to the Lunch Beat world.
