Last Choir Standing stars to perform at Salford Proms

Last Choir Standing judge Russell Watson was so impressed by the ACM Gospel Choir that he asked them to join him on stage at Salford's Proms in the Park this Saturday. The Guildford-based choir are a last minute addition to an already impressive line-up that features the world renowned BBC Philharmonic as well as Salford's home-grown tenor.

Mark de Lisser, choir master for ACM Gospel Choir said, “Russell Watson personally requesting us to come and sing is such a great accolade for the choir and we are truly looking forward to the opportunity.”

Russell Watson will entertain with classic songs including 'Swing Low' and 'Nessun Dorma' and the BBC Philharmonic will perform a rousing programme of orchestral favourites.

The concert will build to its climax with 'Jerusalem' by Parry and Elgar's 'Pomp and Circumstance, March No.1', better known as 'Land of Hope and Glory'.

Fireworks and a thunderous encore will bring the night to a fitting end. The concert will be broadcast live on BBC Radio Manchester and on local BBC stations across the country.

The concert starts at 7.30pm with gates opening at 6pm. It takes place this Saturday (13 September) at Buile Hill Park, Salford. It looks set to be a fantastic evening – and there's still time to buy tickets. Tickets cost just £20 so get yours by calling 0844 888 4412 or by visiting www.visitsalford.info/proms
