Legendary band Kid Creole and the Coconuts are playing at Band on the Wall on 27 and 28 July – and the venue has announced two special cocktail receptions ahead of each performance.
The concerts are exclusive UK club dates and a once-in-a-lifetime chance to catch this seminal band in such an intimate setting. Hits such as 'Annie I'm Not Your Daddy' and 'Stool Pigeon' catapulted Kid Creole and the Coconuts to international stardom in the 1980s and introduced Latin music to millions of new fans around the world.
With recent re-issues of their old Ze Records waxings, a generation of new hipsters are learning to love that Tropical Gangster sound, where Latin met Disco in Studio 54.The concerts are part of the Manchester Jazz Festival which runs from 23 July to 31 July, and a second night for Kid Creole has been added to cope with demand.
Tickets for the Kid Creole Cocktail Receptions include a concert ticket and a delicious Caribbean Summer cocktail. The events start at 6.30pm (the concerts start at 8.30pm) and it costs £30 a head. If you want to make a special night even better, get yourself a ticket by emailing simon.webbon@bandonthewall.org, or for more information on the concerts visit the Band on the Wall website: click here.
