Think you've got what it takes to be photographed for exhibition by the man responsible for THAT picture of Kate Moss?

The world famous snapper Rankin is coming to Liverpool to find a few inspiring faces to feature in his latest photography project, Rankin Live. Maybe you will catch his eye.

Better known to be working behind the lens with the likes of Madonna, Justin Timberlake, Kylie, David Bowie etc, Rankin Live is an exciting exhibition featuring ordinary people from all walks of British life.

The Liverpool leg of Rankin Live will see the celebrated snapper and his team set up a temporary studio in the World Museum next Thursday. The aim is to capture chosen candidates before the exhibition opens initially at London's Truman Brewery at the end of this month.

The series is also being filmed by Sky Arts, so, if you are picked there is a good chance you will be on telly, too.

Brushing aside established A-listers, for this project at least, Rankin is looking for interesting locals, Liverpudlians that are both bold and beautiful, aged 13 and over, boasting a distinctive British style or eccentricity and enthusiasm for the project. Got all that?

Of course, the Pool of Life is flooded with the photogenically gifted. Dangerously, the only official requirement is "dress to impress". We wonder if Rankin quite knows what he is asking.

"Most people don’t like having their photo taken, as they tend to get very nervous and shy," he states. Rankin has obviously been deprived the pleasure of Ladies Day at Aintree or the general swaggery and waggery of a Saturday Church Street stroll.

But, if you think the Rankin Live exhibition would be a damn sight better with your face in it, submit a photo and a brief word explaining why you should be included to skyarts@rankinlive.com.

A limited number will be selected for snapping on the 16th and those lucky few will be contacted by Rankin’s team to be briefed with full details for the day.

Alternatively, you could just rock up to the museum next Thursday in your jazziest jumpsuit and see if the man himself asks you take part, now that would be a story to tell.

If you are picked to be photographed, your print will go on to form the first part of the always-changing London-based exhibition, which runs from 31st July to 18th September. You will also be able to take home your snap, which will be printed miraculously in 15 minutes, for £50 with all proceeds going to Oxfam, Rankin's charity of choice.

Webcams a-ready. Snap and send people, snap and send.
