Jimi Hendrix tribute at Ruby Lounge

Top tribute band Are You Experienced? are bringing Jimi back from the grave for a night of rock and roll mayhem

Published on June 7th 2010.

Jimi Hendrix tribute at Ruby Lounge

After the success of The Doors tribute band last month, Ruby Lounge is resurrecting another 1960s rock god for the benefit of those of us who missed it the first time round.

Are You Experienced? play all the classics: 'Hey Joe', ‘Voodoo Chile’, ‘All Along The Watchtower’, ‘Foxy Lady’, 'Purple Haze' and many more....they might even get their lighter fluid out for the finale of 'Wild Thing'.

The Jimi Hendrix Experience is coming to Manchester on Saturday 26 June in the form of Are You Experienced? This tribute band look and play the part perfectly, even down to the teeth-on-guitar action that Jimi used to do when he was in the 'zone'.

Guitarist and singer John Campbell bears more than just a passing resemblance to Jimi and has drawn on years of playing in bands to perfect his ‘Hendrix’ persona. The bassist and drummer are damn good as well – Hendrix enthusiasts give this tribute act the thumbs up and Guitarist Magazine said they are 'uncannily like the real thing'.

We can't imagine that there'll be many people who saw Jimi playing for real in the crowd, but there's likely to be a whole new army of Hendrix fans. 40 years since his death, he's still regarded as one of the best electric guitar players of all time.

It's going to be a top Saturday night out.

It's £9 in if you buy in advance from us (there's no booking fee unlike with other sellers). Please note – we don't send out tickets – once you pay, your names will be on the guest list at the door at Ruby Lounge.

It takes place on Saturday 26 June. Doors open at 7.30pm. It's likely to sell out fast and you won't find cheaper tickets anywhere else – use the Paypal button below to buy.
