It takes two

The UK’s first ever dual concept store for Y3 and Aspecto

Published on July 30th 2007.

It takes two

One is frightfully lonely but two is definitely company as Aspecto have discovered having launched their dual concept store in the Triangle in Exchange Square, which features international fashion brand Y-3.

We’ve all no doubt trotted in to Aspecto at some point during its 21 years at Bridge Street and King Street to buy Birkenstocks or Cahartt jeans, but we’re probably not as tuned into the Y-3 brand.

Y-3 is the partnership between globally recognised Japanese fashion designer Yohji Yamamoto and Adidas to create cutting edge streetwear. Y-3 stores have opened in Shanghai, Miami and Selfridges London, yet the collaboration between y-3 and Aspecto is the first monobrand store in the UK

Aspecto has enjoyed tremendous success in the city since its’ opening in 1986 and is now seen as one of the top designer fashion retailers for style-conscious men and urban footwear specialist for women. The new look store will take the brand to the next level, with an uber-cool space to display designer gear from brands including; Adidas, Nike, Victorinox, Bellstaff, Evisu, The North Face, Camper and Ugg.

Mel Pilkington, Managing director of Aspecto comments:“ The opening of this store marks a change in the fashion landscape of the city. There is a huge audience of fashion conscious consumers who in the past may not have been catered for and this dual-concept store will now offer them the ultimate haven, with the hottest brands under one roof and in a store that is as stylish as the clothes they are buying.”

Michelle Atack, Marketing Manager at Triangle Shopping Centre comments,“We very much welcome this new collaboration and we’re delighted that Triangle Shopping Centre has been chosen as the ideal location for such a revolutionary store. This is the first time a store like this has ever opened in the UK so we’re expecting it to be nothing but a phenomenal success.”

Aspecto and Y-3 will officially open at the end of July 2007. The duplex store will be located on the lower ground and upper ground floors at Triangle.

Aspecto will trade as normal at 87 Bridge Street until the Triangle store opens.
