As official lager of the Manchester Comedy Festival, Holsten Export has been inebriating punters all over Manchester and helping festival comedians to get bigger laughs. They have also been brewing their own laughs, with the Comedy King stand-up competition.
Regional heats have been taking place throughout September and October in venues around Manchester, in an attempt to discover local comedic talent. The competition final will give the three top comedians the chance to perform at Manchester’s premier comedy venue, The Comedy Store, where they will battle it out in a bid to be crowned Holsten Export’s King of Comedy 2005.
Following last night’s semi finals at the Cinnamon club in Cheshire, the three finalists have emerged as Chris Roache, Steve Shanyaski and Vince Atta. Having fended off stiff competition along the way, the three top comics will now compete for laughs in front of a judging panel made up of some of the top names on the Manchester comedy scene.
Watch this space for the results of the competition, and all of the gossip from the night…
