Heroes invited to penthouse art preview

Costumes, canapés, and cracking views of the city at sunset – the Heroes head to City Inn's Sky Lounge to preview Opera North's new exhibition

Heroes invited to penthouse art preview

Confidential Heroes who'd like a taste of the high-life and an insight into the highbrow world of opera will be heading to Sky Lounge at City Inn next Thursday evening.

The Piccadilly hotel is hosting an art preview and drinks reception in its exclusive penthouse suite to mark the launch of its new exhibition by Opera North. This award-winning opera company will be displaying five of their most intricate costumes and a series of photographs of their performances.

Guests will start the evening in the Sky Lounge suite – a beautiful space with floor-to-ceiling windows and an outdoor area, giving fantastic views over Manchester. After drinks and canapés, they'll be given a short tour of the exhibition by independent art specialist Meredith Gunderson. She will explain the philosophy behind the pieces and talk about some of the bespoke art works commissioned by the hotel.

Then it's back up to Sky Lounge for more drinks and a chance to impress others with your intellectual interpretations of the art – or to just gaze wonderingly out the window as the sun sets over the city below.

The event takes place on Thursday 3 June 2010 and starts at 7pm. There will be two tours (20 people on each) from 8pm.

It's a free event and it's exclusively for Heroes and their plus-ones – if you've not reserved a place, do so now. It's limited to 40 people.

The exhibition is set within the social spaces of the hotel and will be open to the public following launch night.
