ON 26 and 27 October between 6-9pm Manchester's largest park will be on fire - free for young and old alike.
There'll be flames, fire and a discombobulation of sparks across the night during the October half-term.
The event comes courtesy of the National Trust in association with Walk the Plank, the Salford-based pyrotechnic and performance company.
The pair will be creating a 'captivating Fire Garden extravaganza within Heaton Park’s Western Pleasure grounds'.
This is what the press release says: 'Visitors can explore a sculptural landscape of flame and foliage brought to life by performers and musicians. Discover trees that crackle and blaze, copper flowers that breathe fire, flaming bulrushes and glowing lilies that float amongst the water garden in this beautiful installation. (There'll also be) flickering pathways surrounded by lanterns, steaming chimneys, fiery installations and illuminated glass orbs, leading to a stunning fire drawing finale.'
It's going to be free to all.
It sounds magical, enchanting.
And if you want to go deeper the event also aims to capture the spirit of the Park through the memories of visitors while showing the links between urban audiences and the National Trust.
The National Trust is also conducting a series of Urban Walks in Manchester - click here for more information.
The National Trust is inviting people, before 12 October to share their favourite memories of Heaton Park, and to submit these recollections here. A selection of the best will then be showcased through a range of channels, via written word, audio or video over the two nights of the event.
