Halloween Ghost Walks

Book on Manchester’s terrifying (and occasionally amusing) ghost tours around the city centre - THIS REFERS TO GHOST WALKS 2007

Published on October 23rd 2007.

Halloween Ghost Walks

Halloween is almost upon us when the gap between the living and the dead narrows. Forget York or Edinburgh, Manchester is full of spooky tales from broken-hearted women, through evil alchemists to a ghostly pig which could tell the time by a watch. This is an old town with the terror to match.

On Halloween we reckon we can guarantee the odd spectral manifestation too, the occasional shock to make the hairs stand on end and the nerves tingle.

Jonathan Schofield, Manchester Confidential editor, will be leading three tours across the city on Halloween, Wednesday 31 October, at 6pm, 7.30pm and 9pm. There will be a prize for the best costume on each tour. And another for the biggest scream.

Ticket prices are £5, to be paid for on the night, and there are 30 tickets up for grabs on each tour.

If you would like to venture into the darker byways and alleys in Manchester city centre and learn of the deadly past then book below specifying which tour you’d like to go on. You can apply for two tickets at a time. Thirty people will be picked at random for each tour from entries and winners will be notified by Friday afternoon, 26 October.
