PLANS for a Great Vintage Tea Party event in Greater Manchester to celebrate the Queen's Diamond Jubilee weekend in June are getting underway with organisers The Social Butterfly and Perfect Days Vintage. They hope the all day event will be one of the biggest in the region over the June Bank Holiday weekend.
With a quintessentially British, 'fun for all the family' theme, the event will take place at Stockport Victorian Markets, a venue stepped in history and charm on 3 June.
The Queen's Jubilee is the perfect excuse to organise a fun, frivolous and inclusive event for all to enjoy
The event programme will include a mix of food, culture, creative workshops, fashion and children's activities. Highlights will be a pop up Victorian Gin Parlour, tea leaf readings, performances from local bands and poets and face painting and cake decorating for the children. Even the family dog will have a chance to get involved with the "Perfect Pooch" dog show looking to award the region's cutest dogs on the day.
An array of traditional British food will be on the menu for the day with the Northern Quarter's Sugar Junction who are the event's key catering partner on hand serving their famous afternoon teas along with other baked goods and savoury treats. Fish and Chips, hogs roasts, handmade pies and fresh lemonade will also be available to sample.
Event organisers Rachael Adams and Katie Mitchell commented "We are truly excited about the event which we are hoping will attract around 1,000 people from across the region. The Queen's Jubilee is the perfect excuse to organise a fun, frivolous and inclusive event for all to enjoy and Stockport Victorian Markets is the perfect location because it not only reflects the historical nature of the event but it is also very accessible for people coming from all over Greater Manchester.
"With our event suppliers we are only partnering with local independent businesses allowing us to showcase their products and giving them a great opportunity to get in front of a huge audience and hopefully attract lots of new customers."

Sounds like it could be fun, but as the ticket price is just to walk through the door, I think I'd rather spend £7 on a Ladies Afternoon Tea down the road at the Plaza.
