Gordo's Bits n Bobs

Gordo, Selfridges, and delightful derrieres

Gordo's Bits n Bobs

Gordo found himself out on the town last night with his daughter, Georgina. Gordo is 49 going on 18, and Georgina is 29 going on 62. Kick off was at the new East z East, part of the Edge development next to the Lowry hotel. Kabir, the gaffer, has been one of Manchester Confidential’s favourite Punjabi restaurateurs; his existing place down the bottom of Princess Street is full to bursting, so he has opened this fabulous space.

Kabir, Gordo loves you; but lose the live music. We come for your fantastic food and conversation. Not for music that drowns us out. Chop the stage up immediately, you will get four more tables in, and everyone will have a view of the river. And fabulous food. AND BE ABLE TO CHAT.

Then Selfridges, where the utterly delightful Jade Seldon was throwing one of her legendary parties. There are a few things about these that Gordo loves. Firstly chef David, who keeps Gordo topped up with beer. Secondly, the food. The new pork pies were on show, they are fantastic. Last but not least was Lindsey Cole’s bottom. Bloody hell.

Gordo was in pole position during the fashion show, Emma was the belle of the ball. Lauren, as always was a Gordo favourite. Gordo bumped into a couple of old pals, Jenny Stewart and Tracy Dirkin, both looking as fit as butchers' dogs, so Gordo went to drink more champagne with them at Restaurant bar and Grill, which is very much on form food-wise.

Then on to The Magazine party at that high class gaff Bar 38. Gordo was unaware that Nicola did irony. Amanda’s legs were historic, not ironic, mind you, a picture of which Gordo is not allowed to publish.

The night finished with Gordo being fed chips at Manchester 235 at four in the morning, by Suzi Wiseberg apparently, then dragged off home. Happy Trails.
