Everything you need to organise the perfect event

Event exhibition RSVP North has all the suppliers, ideas, and know-how under one roof – and it's free

Published on April 8th 2010.

Everything you need to organise the perfect event

RSVP North is the biggest gathering of event suppliers in the region. It's being held at Manchester Central on 21 and 22 April, and is an absolute must-see for anyone who is planning an event, whether it's a meeting, conference, awards ceremony, product launch or any other professional corporate function for your company.

Many people find themselves landed with the task of organising an event without receiving any training on how to get it right. At RSVP North, there's a series of talks from event management experts that are free to attend.

It's a trade show but it's a great deal more entertaining than a hall full of leaflet stands – there's a music stage, a cocktail bar courtesy of Harvey Nichols, and free workshops. You can have a go at wine-tasting, fragrance designing and the potter's wheel.

Although you could happily go just as a jaunt away from the office, most people will be there for a reason. If your job involves organising events, be it an office night out or a major conference, it's well worth attending.

A huge range of suppliers will be there, covering everything from venues to entertainment to business travel. Whether you're looking for an idea that will get your colleagues excited, or a hotel that will keep your clients happy, this is a way to do all your research in one day.

Big name companies such as Jet2 and Alton Towers are exhibiting alongside local heroes like Band on the Wall and Imperial War Museum North. There are also some quirky businesses who specialise in providing unusual experiences, for example Spymasters – 'the world's only provider of real life espionage surveillance scenarios'. Now that sounds like a team-building day that will be remembered for more than a couple of weeks.

The programme of event talks is another big draw. Many people find themselves landed with the task of organising an event without receiving any training or guidance on how to get it right. At RSVP North, there's a series of talks from event management experts that are free to attend. Subjects include 'Securing good rates for meeting space', 'Business travel – getting the best deals', 'How to deliver the perfect event on time and on budget' and 'The future of Christmas parties'.

So whether you an experienced event manager or a PA who has been tasked with the planning of an event there will some be something there to inspire you!

Manchester Confidential will have a stand there – we'll be putting on a breakfast reception with some swish goody bags and give-aways. People who register below will automatically be sent an invite. And everyone who registers below and attends the exhibition will be entered into a prize draw to win a 2 night B&B stay at the fabulous Best Western Moorside Grange Hotel and Spa. The hotel is situated in the Peak District and is within driving distance of many visitor attractions so is the ideal base from which to enjoy a real fun break. Relax and unwind in the hotel’s Health and Fitness Club, Triangle, with its Mediterranean pool, steam rooms and sauna!

RSVP North takes place on Wednesday 21 and Thursday 22 April at Manchester Central (formerly GMEX). It's free to attend. Just click here to register.
