Ducati Manchester Launch Night - 20th April 2006

Published on April 21st 2006.

Thursday Night saw the re-launch of the Ducati store, in Knutsford, Cheshire. The night was to be a stunning display of the finest Italian marques, spiced with canapés provided by EST EST EST, Italian Beer and Pink Cocktails.

Over 100 people attended the opening, with a procession of Ducati riders ushering the coached attendees out of rush hour Manchester for the evening event. Those that attended included out and out Petrol Heads, Fashionistas, Manchester Confidential prize winners, Ducati owners, the attentive Manchester Confidential staff and star of the show 'Dev' from Corrie - Jimmi Harkishin. He owns and rides a Ducati Multistrada and looks right at home sat astride a bike.

The real stars of the show however were the bikes themselves. Bikes on display ranged from the 'humble' Ducati Sport 1000 'Café Racer' style all the way up to the 'full blown' Team Airwaves GSE Racing Ducati Superbike of current British Super Bike Championship leader Gregorio Lavilla (not for sale !). Every marque was represented in a clean and bright showroom environment, no squeezed in products or oil-stained carpets.

A two piece Opera ensemble added an Italian flair to the evening, not that Ducati needs much added flair ! If you don't know about motorbikes, think of Ferrari and remove two wheels. Both Italian, both with a long and distinguished heritage, and both; even at the 'base model' offering more than just a 'mode of transport'. Ducati ownership is a passionate thing and you really are buying into a lifestyle choice. Even if it is your 'every day' transport, Ducati owners are proud and passionate about the styling, performance and impressive pedigree that 80 years of making motorbikes brings.

The store offers far more than 'just' motorbikes however. As the premiere UK store, and as a first of its kind, it offers a whole host of Ducati related paraphernalia from models, badges and leisure wear through to Ducati logo'd leathers and helmets. The attentive staff offer a full helmet sizing service, along with other specialist clothing choices including SIDI boots and Shoei helmets. In addition there are superb and well appointed servicing and preparation facilities. This really is the 'one stop shop' for all things Ducati.

After the light had failed, and all the gorgeous bikes had been put to bed, the assembled hoards found their way back to Manchester for a celebratory drink in the Subterranean splendour of Panacea. A fitting end to a week of Manchester Passion.
