Confidential's Call My Bluff Wine Tasting Quiz

Join Gordo and Charlie for a night of fine wine, artisan cheese and a hot supper from Ramsons

Confidential's Call My Bluff Wine Tasting Quiz

If you're a wine fan – either an expert or just enthusiastic – get your name down for our wine-tasting quiz and supper at Manchester Food and Drink Festival on Thursday 13 October.

Hosted by Gordo and his wine-expert friend Charlie Womersley, it's going to be an evening of excellent wines, fine cheeses and superb food from renowned restaurant Ramsons Hideaway.

Jpg2The audience (that's you) will taste six delectable wines while Gordo and Charlie read out descriptions of each. Using your finely-honed palates (or your liar-spotting skills), you'll identify which of our hosts has the correct description, and which is telling porky pies.

The team scoring the highest marks will be crowned 'Confidential Wine Tasters of the Year' and will win a spectacular, as yet undisclosed, prize.

Each wine tasting will be matched with an artisan cheese introduced by Peter 'The Cheese Detective' Papprill – he'll ensure there's some eye-opening taste combinations. And at the end you'll be treated to a hot supper prepared by the talented head chef at Ramsons Hideaway, Louise Varley. (Confidential rated her food 9/10 on a recent visit to Ramsbottom.)

WinfestWinefestWith Gordo acting as your host, you can expect a unique brand of entertainment. He's a cheeky chap but good company – and he knows his wines. See if he can dupe you into believing his faux descriptions are the real thing.

You can enter the quiz as a team or go on your ownsome and we'll organise you into a group of friendly, like-minded folk. It's going to be a fun, relaxed evening that any foodie or wine lover will appreciate. And the perfect way to show your support for the Food and Drink Festival.

It's all happening in The Gastro Room – a cosy pop-up venue in the Food and Drink Festival's hub at Albert Square at 7pm on Thursday 13 October.

The night includes six wine tastings, six artisan cheeses, the quiz, and a hot supper from Ramsons Hideaway. Tickets cost £20.

We'd love to see you there. Click here to buy and find out more.
