Catwalk to freedom

Walrus is to become the runway for a style soiree next Wednesday, 25 March. Manchester Met University students Lianne Hughes and Laura Ruxton will be displaying their fashion designs in Walrus' 60s psychedelia inspired venue.

Guests will be treated to delicious canapes, which if you've eaten at Walrus before you will know are light years away from sausages on sticks. There will also be opportunity to win a wonderful array of raffle prizes including goodies from Monsoon, Rags to Bitches, Hotel Chocolat and cinema tickets. DJ Jupiter Rooms will be keeping the party alive with electro-disco-80s tunes into the night.

The night is all in aid of Manchester-based charity 'Medical Foundation - for the care and victims of torture'. All ticket sales and raffle money will go towards helping survivors of torture and organised violence, engage in a healing process to assert their own human dignity and worth. Help includes medical and social care, practical assistance, psychological and physical therapy. Tickets cost £5 and doors open at 7.30pm.
