Young designers at the cutting edge of couture will be displaying their collections at the Trafford Centre in July. The Trafford Centre Fashion Student of Year competition will culminate in an afternoon of catwalk shows and a contest to win a design prize that is highly coveted in the student fashion world.
“Anyone who's interested in how fashion is going to look over the next decade should catch this show.”
The Trafford Centre and fashion retailer USC have trawled the student shows to uncover some of the most talented graduates in the north west. Those selected will display their collections at the show – and the overall winner will be invited to design a piece for USC’s Soviet brand.
Jo Bohling, brand director at USC, said: “Anyone who's interested in how fashion is going to look over the next decade should catch this show. For the winner, it could be the start of a great career which could open doors to design and fashion houses across the globe.”
You can see the most innovative, north west student collections on Saturday 12 July on the Main Stage in The Orient at The Trafford Centre. Final year collections from the University of Salford, MMU and UCLan will be on display as students compete for the prize.
Show times are 12.30pm, 2pm and 4pm. The final show at 4pm will be judged by an expert panel. Make sure you're there to get an insight into the design directions of the future.
