Big Willy's Coming!

Published on February 18th 2005.

Manchester is preparing to bubble over and go Will Smith bananas next week as The Fresh Prince himself swaggers into The Printworks.

Hollywood A-lister Smith, the star of The Men In Black, Independence Day, Enemy of the State and countless other Hollywood blockbusters, pays his first ever visit to Manchester to launch the premiere of his new movie 'Hitch' at thefilmworks on Tuesday.

Allrounder Smith has also made his mark in the music industry with good tunes, but mind bogglingly bad titles, such as 'Boom Shake The Room' and 'Gettin Jiggy Wit it'.

Will will be arriving at noon on Tuesday February 22nd to walk the red carpet and meet and greet fans before launching his new movie. The Manchester launch is the first step of a his UK 'Red Carpet Race' that will see Smith jet off to Birmingham and London on the same day to present more premieres.

The Manchester Hitch Premiere is set to be a spectacular showbiz event. Crowds will gather along the specially laid red carpet whilst they prepare to watch a glittering array of star guests walk the arrivals carpet alongside Smith.

After greeting fans and personally introducing the film to the audience, Smith will hot foot it down to his next film premiere in Birmingham and finally, travel back down to London’s famous Leicester Square for a star-studded evening premiere at the Odeon cinema.

In 'Hitch', Alex “Hitch” Hitchens (Will Smith) is a legendary - and deliberately anonymous - New York City “date doctor” who, for a fee, has helped countless men woo the women of their dreams. While coaching Albert (Kevin James), a meek accountant who is smitten with a glamorous celebrity, Allegra Cole (Amber Valletta), Hitch finally meets his match in the person of the gorgeous, whip-smart Sara Melas (Eva Mendes), a gossip columnist who follows Allegra’s every move.

The fun starts at 11am, with live entertainment from Galaxy 102 and the chance to win lots of free prizes!

So get yourself down to The Printworks on Tuesday to see one of Hollywood's hottest properties in the flesh.
