My niece has this really cool jewellery making set. It contains beads, sequins and lots of sparkly things which make you go “ooo” when they catch the light.
I pretend to be her style advisor, but truthfully I’m selfishly gratifying my own creative needs.
From daisy chains to diamonds, girls have always indulged in pretty things to decorate their bodies with and now courtesy of Australian jewellery designer, Claire Aristides, we can now learn to do it ourselves.
Jewellery School is the new beauty school and after huge success in London, it’s arriving in Manchester, Glasgow and Dublin.
Jewellery School which is a one day course, consists of a design team who will guide you through the day, provide you with all the beads, metal charms and trinkets, as well as the tools and guidance you will need. You’ll leave the day fulfilled, armed with new skills, and of course with all the fab jewellery you’ve made on the day.
Claire enthuses “Jewellery making should be for everyone, it’s so fulfilling making your own piece, with your own favorite colours’’
If you can’t make it to the course, don’t fret as Claire has written her first book Bejewelled £20.00 which consists of 30 projects on ‘how to’ make designer jewellery. Bejewelled is the first of its kind, to combine fashion and craft beautifully together.
The course is for one full day, costing £125 which includes all materials, lunch and refreshments. The first course will be at Manchester Metropolitan University on Saturday 3 November from 11.00am – 5.30pm and the following date will be 23 November.
