Bauer Millett shows off new models at casino night

Bauer Millett brought a touch of Monte Carlo to Manchester with a special casino night last week.

Manchester Confidential readers and invited guests had the chance to try their luck on the roulette table and hang around with some hot new models. Cars, that is.

Guests got the chance to get their hands on the new Abarth 500c, the Abarth Punto Evo, and the new Alfa Romeo Giulietta – a stylish update on the classic Italian sports car.

The 500 Abarth is powered by a 1.4 16v Turbo petrol engine which delivers a maximum of 135 bhp at 5000 rpm and features TTC (Torque Transfer Control), which improves the transfer of drive torque to the wheels and means the car behaves itself on bends.

The Abarth Punto Evo features a 1.4 litre turbocharged engine with MultiAir variable valve timing, alloy wheels with a claw design and a Sport Switch, which allows the car to be put into a special setting that sharpens throttle and steering response, as well as TTC. There’s also a fuel-saving stop-start system.

The Giulietta, currently being thrown around by Uma Thurman in its latest ad campaign, is a modern take on the 1950s original classic and features a switchable DNA system, which lets drivers choose between Dynamic, Normal and All-weather modes. It also sounds as good as it looks and Alfa engineers claim it’s been tuned to sound like the Spider ‘Duetto’ from the Sixties.

Drinks, nibbles and live music was also on offer but the cars were undoubtedly the stars. Guests were able to jump inside the cars and get the feel for slipping into something sporty.

Also up for grabs were three fantastic prizes: a track day for one, an Alfa Romeo Mito for a month, or Alfa Romeo memorabilia.
