Legendary saxophonist and Sun-Ra Arkestra bandleader Marshall Allen joins forces with acclaimed film-maker James Harrar for this incredible collaboration featuring rare 1960s and 1970s Arkestra film footage reassembled by Harrar and sliced through live on stage with Allen's extraordinary music.

Support comes from sax man Nat Birchall's quartet whose cult hit and now highly sought after soulful slice of spiritual jazzAkhenaten (released on trumpeter Matthew Halsall’s label, Gondwana Records, in 2009) confirmed the spirit of Coltrane was alive and well in Northern England.

Searching harmonies and cyclic sequences in the compositions recall both the 70's prog-jazz-rock of Yes and John McLaughlin and the French 20th century classical organist-composers Messiaen and Duruflé. Temporarily replacing their guitarist for this gig is Kit Downes, who complements the band’s swirling, spinning and hypnotic music perfectly, slowly but surely building momentum, pulling the listener in and along for the intense and uneasy ride
