BBC Proms in the Park 2006

Dig out your Union Jack, pack up your troubles in your old kit bag, and hop into the old jalopy this weekend for the BBC Proms in the Park at Heaton Park.

For the tenth year running, music fans around the country will be able to share the magic of the last night of the proms, with Proms in the Park taking place in five locations across the British Isles.

The Manchester event will see the world renowned BBC Philharmonic take to the stage for a classical music extravaganza on Saturday 9th September. In case you have failed to notice the huge banners all over the city centre, headlining the concert will be the raven haired beauty Katie Melua.

The night will end with a live link up to the Royal Albert Hall for a countrywide singalong to all of the Last Night favourites from the Royal Albert Hall.

The evening will be presented by BBC Radio Manchester’s Heather Stott, with live music beginning at 6.30pm.

Tickets are a very reasonable £12.50, with the kiddywinks getting in for free. For more information and to book tickets, click here
