All the fun of the fair at One Piccadilly Gardens

Published on October 5th 2004.

All the leaves are brown, and the sky is grey....
But it’s not all doom and gloom because One Piccadilly Gardens is going to be celebrating all things Autumn on Thursday evening.

The end of summer is usually greeted with a depression that sweeps the nation but Argent, the owners of the building, are going to be putting the smiles back onto the faces of a downcast Manchester by celebrating the recent resurgence in the Piccadilly area.
As part of the Food and Drink Festival, One Piccadilly Gardens will be introducing the natives to the new retail outlets that will be contributing to the ground floor experience of Piccadilly.
The highly acclaimed Kro Bar, Manna (from Heaven) – an organic and fair trade food and drink outlet – and Rice bar are all coming soon.
The eclectic mix of specialist, independent operators will join the vibrant Caffe Nero already situated within the adjacent Piccadilly Pavilion.
The introduction of all of these outlets will be celebrated on Thursday night, giving an insight into the rejuvenation of a previously downtrodden area.
The Piccadilly area has certainly transformed itself in recent times, thanks in the main to Argent and the Piccadilly Partnership, a recently established partnership which includes the likes of Argent, Bruntwood and the Manchester City Council, set up to regenerate the area. The new One Piccadilly Gardens building is the central building block to all that will be developing around it.
The quality establishments that are being introduced are the first noticeable indications that the area is getting a facelift.
It’s not just an excuse to introduce the public to these fine new brands either, there’s also going to be a host of fun and games to brighten up the day. With coconut shies, corkshooting, spill the milk, a golf driving range game and skittles, there’ll be plenty of fun to be had.
