There’s less than a month to go before Manchester makes history with Fashion Weekend Manchester 4-7 October, these are certainly the hottest tickets in town and cost just £10 in advance. So make sure you book today.

Manchester has always lived in the shadows of London’s prowess where fashion is concerned, having to settle for concession stores as opposed to flagship ones gracing Bond Street. But finally Manchester is receiving the recognition it deserves as a trend-setting city embracing diverse styles with the arrival of Fashion Weekend Manchester.

Fashion Weekend Manchester will be an iconic event not only celebrating Manchester as a style city but the fashion industry as a whole.

The event which is being opened by Radio 1 Breakfast show DJ and fashionista Sara Cox will be held at the Urbis where the entire third floor will be transformed into fashion heaven including a femme fatale themed catwalk theatre.

From the organisers of London Fashion Week and London Fashion Weekend, Beckie Crane Marketing Manager of Fashion Weekend Manchester says: “We wanted the visitors at Fashion Weekend to experience a 1st class catwalk, something that is only usually available to fashion industry insiders.”

As well as attending the catwalk shows which will feature top designers such as Ben de Lisi and Paul and Joe, visitors will be privy to various other fashion and beauty related features.

There are bargains to be had at the designer stands plus personal shoppers at Philips Stylists’ Lab and style advisors at trend setting Top Shop will be available to help you find a look that works for you.

Fashion Weekend Manchester’s official beauty partner, Bourjois will be holding make-up master classes with celebrity makeup artist Cassie Lomas divulging top tips and demonstrating the latest trends.

Demonstrations of seven bespoke blow-dry techniques will be held by Toni and Guy Style, the official haircare sponsors complete with recommendations about the must have hair care packages from the Toni &Guy professional haircare range label.m.

As official fragrance sponsor of the event, Calvin Klein invite fashion lovers to kick back with a complimentary hand and arm massage whilst visiting the Euphoria boutique and sampling the oriental aroma Euphoria and Euphoria Men.

You could also be the first to witness top fashion designers of the future as The Future of Fashion in association with the Metro present designs from Manchester’s finest fashion graduates. And from the fledglings to the experienced, renowned catwalk designers Betty Jackson, Christian Lacroix and Luella Bartley have designed exclusive t-shirts, the proceeds of which aid in helping to end abuses linked with global cotton production. This is part of the Environmental Justice Foundation’s ‘Pick your Cotton Carefully Campaign’ and shoppers will be able to purchase these exclusively designed t-shirts at the event.

And when you have shopped till you’ve dropped then head for the Tia Maria bar or The Modern Bar, sip on a specialty cocktail and daydream about how enviable you’ll look for Autumn/Winter.
