2022NQ Launches In The Northern Quarter

A NEW event space has launched in the heart of the Northern Quarter and Confidential has been in to take an early look...

Situated in the basement of 20 Dale Street, 2022NQ, hopes to offer a unique area for Manchester’s creative industry. The project is the brainchild of local entrepeneurs Jamie Scahill, Keith Griffiths, Neil Scott, Steve Johnson and Tunji Oyewobi.

“The Northern Quarter is really lacking in any kind of creative space that is adaptable for a number of different events”

As a not for profit space, the venue instead acts as a networking hub to assist Manchester’s creatives. The venue is licensed and consists of two rooms, each providing 300 square metres of space, and available for hire for a wide range of uses seven days week.

Each month a different Manchester artist will take over the space for an in-house exhibition. The first month has been handed over to photographer Matthew Comer and his ‘Wallin’ exhibition, which launched on Friday 13 April.

Jamie Scahill of 2022NQ said: “The space has been in the planning for over six months. The Northern Quarter is really lacking in any kind of creative space that is adaptable for a number of different events. Future events include photo shoots, music events, a fashion industry recruitment fair, Manchester University student art exhibition and two new product launches.

“We have had a great response from the creative, music and fashion industries in the area and we hope 2022NQ becomes a creative hub within the Northern Quarter.”

2002NQ is open to the public now. For more information please visit 2022nq.co.uk. You can also follow 2022NQ on Twitter @2022nq.
