The Place to be

Lynda Moyo lives her dream apartment fantasy at The Place

The Place to be

The Place Apartment Hotel, in the heart of Piccadilly is the hotel of the 21st Century. The difference between The Place and your average hotel is that here you feel like it’s your second home; your very own ‘Friends’ style apartment in the city.

From the hustle and bustle of Piccadilly, entering The Place you immediately forget you are bang in the centre of Manchester. The reception area is clean and simple with spangly chandelier light shades to add a bit of bling. The staff, inviting and friendly, promptly handing over the keys to your very own loft of luxury. There is no need for molly coddling at The Place. The idea is that you are left to your own devices whilst still having the option of the usual hotel perks such as room service and wake up calls. They don’t pester you, but if there is something you want all you need to do is ask.

In the deluxe two bedroom apartment we stayed in there was enough space to cartwheel all over the laminate floors, should you chose to. The open plan structure included a large stainless steel style kitchen with all the trimmings, plus dining area both overlooking the homely lounge area.

Guests get a large television with Sky, surround sound stereo, heating, washing machine, dryer, ironing board, dishwasher, microwave, kitchen utensils, bottle openers, tea towels, washing up liquid; more than just the bare essentials, The Place is fully furnished. The red brickwork adds warmth and character to the modern apartment style along with welcoming touches like books and pictures. The deluxe apartment has two bathrooms, one with a shower cubicle and the other with a shower over bath facility. Both with heated towel rails and bathroom goodies.

The 2 bedrooms are both equal in size and luxury. A dressing gown and slippers await your arrival. The view from both rooms is jaw-dropping, particularly at night when the city landscape view literally sparkles.

Being in such a central location, bars, pubs and clubs are easily accessible in just a short walking distance or if you don’t want to step outside, The Place has its own cosy little bar which you can even call to have drinks delivered to your apartment. There is also the adjoined Cotton House for food and drink, all at a stones throw.

Great for a business trip, girly or lads weekend away or if like me you simply want to live inner city for a few days, The Place is a great ‘try before you buy’ type of opportunity for those wanting the city centre living experience.

The Place Apartment Hotel offers a refreshingly different approach to hotel accommodation. This is hotel where you don’t just get a room; you get an entire loft plus 4 stars next to its name. You get what you pay for, but with The Place you get so much more.

During June, July, and August The Place are offering the rate of £99 per night, when you book any one bed apartment and £130 for two bed apartments. Parking for a night in the discreet car park to the back of the complex costs £7.50 which is more than reasonable for such a central location. For more information, visit www.theplacehotel.com
