Manchester drama students and fellow music lovers are being invited to feature in a new music video directed by Hollywood actor, Idris Elba.
There’s about 200 places up for grabs and what an opportunity this is for us and anyone who gets involved.
The video will accompany the forthcoming single from Manchester rock band, The Last Party called ‘A Thousand Smiles’.
Fresh from his collaboration with Mumford & Sons, Elba, star of The Wire and Luther, offered to team up with the as yet unsigned Manc four-piece for their new single after he saw one of their recent London shows. The single comes out in June.
Over two hundred extras are now needed to recreate the band’s set at the city’s Christmas lights switch on last year, which saw The Last Party perform alongside The Wanted and Misha B.
Filming will take place on Wednesday 3 April at a secret location in Manchester. Interested parties should register at here.
Guitar and vocalist Liam Manton, said: “There is so much young creative talent in this city and we know more than anybody how hard it can be to catch a break – we’ve been lucky, and this is one of the reasons why we want to use every possible opportunity we can to support fellow artists, performers and music lovers – we’ve been doing it since day one. There’s about 200 places up for grabs and what an opportunity this is for us and anyone who gets involved – we don’t really need to say much more than that, the concept for the video is dynamite, so put on your dancing shoes and let’s be having yer!”
