Manchester Pride 2007 was a resounding success from the fun of the parade and the stage to the serious tributes and work of the HIV vigil and the fund-raising for good causes. As Andrew Stokes, the Chairman of Pride and the Chief Executive of Marketing Manchester told Confidential, "it's been a great year, the biggest parade with the most floats we've ever had and big happy crowds plus a lot of money raised." These pictures chart the progress of the event from Council Leader Sir Richard Leese's opening speech at the launch of Pride at City Inn, through the floats on the Parade, via stage acts such as the shy and retiring Beth Ditto of The Gossip, to the closing Vigil and the big bang of the Bank Holiday Monday fireworks.
